Hercules E-Imperial 180 S F5

The 2021 "E-Imperial 180 S F5" model from Hercules is a versatile e-bike that is suitable for both everyday city commuting and longer rides. Priced at 3,699 EUR, it offers a solid range of features and high quality. The frame is made of reinforced aluminium (AL6061), which gives the bike a robust structure and allows for a maximum load of 180 kg. The bike itself weighs 28 kg.

The Magura HS22 hydraulic rim brakes, together with the brake levers of the same name, ensure reliable braking performance. Gear changes are controlled via the Shimano Revoshifter, whilst the SR Suntour NEX-E25 fork, with 63 mm of adjustable travel, ensures comfort on uneven terrain. Lighting is provided by a HERCULES FH 40 LED front light with up to 40 lux and a Busch & Müller 2C LED rear light mounted on the luggage rack.

For the drivetrain, the bike is fitted with an FSA CK-220 crankset, a Shimano 27T sprocket and a KMC Z610 chain. The Zecure HD handlebars, with a 15° backsweep and a 20 mm rise, combined with the Ergo grips and the adjustable A-head stem, provide a comfortable riding position. The Ryde Andra 40 rims and Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres (47-622) with SmartGuard technology ensure stability and puncture protection.

The e-bike features a Shimano T3000 hub dynamo at the front and a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub gear at the rear, both fitted with quick-release mechanisms. The Selle Bassano SUPREMA City saddle, mounted on a Zecure HD001 seatpost, offers additional comfort. Other practical features include SKS plastic mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard, a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand and an AXA Victory lock with a key-operated battery lock.

The integrated i-Rack luggage rack with spring-loaded flap and battery mount complements the bike’s functionality. The e-bike is powered by a Bosch Performance Cruise GEN3 motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 65 Nm. The Bosch Carriertype battery, with a capacity of 500 Wh, ensures a reasonable range, whilst the Bosch Intuvia display enables intuitive control. The Bosch charger has an output of 2A. With a reach of 410 mm and a stack of 672 mm, the e-bike offers balanced geometry for a comfortable ride.
