Hercules Cargo 1000

The 2023 Hercules Cargo 1000 is a versatile and robust cargo bike designed specifically for transporting heavy loads. Priced at 6,999 EUR, it offers an impressive combination of performance, stability and functionality. The frame is made from the Aluminium eCargo Series, AL 6061, and is rated for a gross vehicle weight of 250 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 57 kg.

The braking system comprises Magura MT-5N hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm Magura Storm HC brake discs at both the front and rear, ensuring reliable and powerful braking performance. The drivetrain is a continuously variable Enviolo Cargo system, operated by a mechanical Enviolo Multiturn shifter. The fork is a reinforced Spinner 300 with 80 mm of travel, providing additional comfort on uneven roads.

Safety in the dark is ensured by the Hercules FH 100 LED front light, which provides up to 100 lux, and the Busch & Müller Toplight 2C LED rear light. The pedals are Marwi SP828 aluminium pedals, whilst the crankset is an FSA CK-220 with a length of 170 mm. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z1EHX chain and an Enviolo 20T sprocket.

The handlebars are aluminium trekking risers with a 9° backsweep and a 45 mm rise, complemented by Ergon GP 10 grips and an adjustable A-Head stem. The tyres are Schwalbe Pick up Super Defence, sized 55-406 at the front and 60-559 at the rear, fitted to a DBF-1 rim at the front and a Ryde Andra 40 rim at the rear. The hubs are a Shimano HB-M525 at the front and an Enviolo CA Disc at the rear.

The saddle, a Selle Royal LookIn Relaxed, sits on a Kalloy SP-DC1 seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 350 mm. Additional features include SKS plastic mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard, a system-specific centre stand and an ABUS Pro Shield lock. The luggage rack is a Monkey Load system rack with a spring-loaded flap.

The Cargo 1000 is powered by a fourth-generation Performance CX Cargo Smart System motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 85 Nm. The motor is powered by a Bosch PowerPack battery with a capacity of 1090 Wh, which is charged using a Bosch 4 A charger. The Bosch Intuvia 100 display provides a clear overview of all relevant ride data. This cargo bike combines functionality and performance to meet demanding transport requirements.
