Green’s Essex 7 Gang

The 2024 Essex 7-speed model from Green’s is a reliable and well-equipped bicycle, suitable for both everyday use and longer rides. Priced at 549 EUR, it offers good value for money. The aluminium frame ensures a robust yet lightweight construction, keeping the bike’s total weight at 17 kg and allowing for a maximum rider weight of up to 130 kg.

The bike is fitted with a Shimano Nexus 7-speed gear system, which ensures smooth and precise gear changes. The brakes consist of a combination of V-brakes and a coaster brake, ensuring reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. The unicrown fork with a 1 1/8" steel steerer tube offers additional stability and durability.

For lighting, the Essex is fitted with an AXA Ecoline front light (15 lux) and an AXA Slim Steady rear light with a parking light, both powered by a hub dynamo. This guarantees a constant and low-maintenance power supply for the lights. The Marwi SP-872N pedals are fitted with reflectors to increase visibility in traffic.

The Zoom HL NR-48 handlebars, with a width of 580 mm, and the Herrmans Ude grips offer comfort and control whilst riding. The Zoom HL HS C82-5 stem completes the setup and enables a comfortable riding position. The aluminium hollow-section rims, combined with 28" (40-622) Kenda Reflex tyres, ensure a stable and comfortable ride.

The Selle Royal Rio saddle, paired with the Promax SP-501AE seatpost (30.4 mm diameter), offers additional comfort on longer journeys. Practical features such as the adjustable Olona kickstands, plastic mudguards and a sturdy steel luggage rack round off the specification, making the Essex 7-speed a versatile everyday companion.
