GIANT Talon E+ EX

The 2022 GIANT Talon E+ EX is a versatile e-bike available at a price of 2,699 EUR. The frame is made from robust AluxX material and features a 135mm QR. The brakes are Tektro HD-M275 with 180mm at the front and 160mm at the rear; the brake levers are also Tektro HD-M275. The drivetrain is a Shimano Alivio M3100 with 9 speeds, controlled by a Shimano Altus SL-M2010 shifter.

The suspension fork is an SR Suntour XCM ATB Coil with 100mm travel and a quick-release mechanism. Adequate lighting is provided by the Herrmans H-BLACK MR4 front light with 40 lux. The pedals are made of aluminium and offer a stable platform. The crankset is an FSA Comet with an FSA MegaTooth Direct-mount 36T chainring, whilst the cassette is a Shimano Altus CS-HG200 with 11–36T. The drivetrain is optimised by a KMC e.9 Sport chain, which has been specially developed for e-bikes.

The handlebars are GIANT Connect TR Riser with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a rise of 20 mm; the grips are GIANT Sole-O. The stem is a GIANT Contact with a length of 70 mm, and the handlebars are 440 mm wide. The rims are GIANT GX03V and the tyres are Maxxis Rekon Race in size 29 x 2.25, which are supplied with inner tubes as standard. The hubs are GIANT eTracker Sport and the spokes are made of stainless steel.

The saddle is a GIANT Sport model and the seatpost has a diameter of 30.9mm. The bike is also fitted with a GIANT KSA18 kickstand and a GIANT Rack-It MIK luggage rack. The motor is a Yamaha SyncDrive Core with an output of 50Nm; the battery has a capacity of 500Wh and can be fast-charged at 4A using the EnergyPak Fast Charger. The display is a RideControl Dash 2in1.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 387 mm, a stack of 586 mm, a seat tube length of 470 mm and a top tube length of 560 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle is 74 degrees, the head tube length is 150 mm and the chainstay length is 425 mm. The bottom bracket drop is 80 mm, the fork offset is 50 mm and the standover height is 757 mm. The crank length is 173 mm and the wheelbase measures 1026 mm in total.
