GIANT Stance E+ Pro EX

GIANT’s 2022 “Stance E+ Pro EX” model is a versatile e-mountain bike, priced at 4,999 EUR. The frame consists of an AluxX main frame with a FlexPoint rear triangle and an integrated speed sensor. The frame offers 120 mm of suspension travel and a 12 x 148 mm axle width.

The brakes are Shimano Deore BR-MT420 (4-piston) with 203 mm brake discs, which ensure powerful and reliable braking performance. The brake levers are Shimano Deore BL-M4100, I-spec EV. The gear system consists of a Shimano Deore M6100 Shadow+ 12-speed groupset and a Shimano Deore M6100 shifter, also featuring I-spec EV. An MRP 1X Custom ‘V3’ chain guide provides additional security and precision.

Suspension at the front is provided by a RockShox Recon Silver RL fork with Motion Control damping and 130 mm of travel, which is specially optimised for e-MTBs. At the rear is a RockShox Monarch RT shock, which is individually tuned and features a high-volume design.

The bike is fitted with a Herrmans H-BLACK MR8 front light, which ensures good visibility with 60 lux. The pedals are flat pedals. The crankset consists of a Praxis e-Cadet+ with a Praxis Wave 36T chainring. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a 10–51T range. Power is transmitted via a KMC e.12 Turbo chain with an EcoProteq coating, which is specially optimised for e-bikes.

The handlebars are GIANT Connect TR Riser with a diameter of 31.8 mm and a 20 mm rise; the grips are GIANT Tactal single lock-on. The stem is a GIANT Contact with a length of 110 mm; the handlebars are 440 mm wide.

The rims are GIANT AM 29", tubeless-ready and have an internal width of 30 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Rekon 29x2.25" foldable, tubeless and fitted with EXO protection, but are supplied with an inner tube. The hubs are Shimano MT410 and the spokes are a combination of Sapim Race and Sapim E-Lite.

The saddle is a GIANT Romero E and the seatpost is a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm (S:100/M:125/L:150/XL:170). A GIANT KSA18 kickstand and a GIANT Rack-It MIK luggage rack complete the specification.

The motor is a SyncDrive Pro with 80 Nm of torque, powered by Yamaha, and the battery has a capacity of 625 Wh (EnergyPak Smart Integrated). The display is a RideControl Dash 2-in-1. An EnergyPak Smart Charger Compact with 4A is used for charging.

The bike’s geometry comprises the following measurements: Reach is 392 mm, stack is 614 mm, seat tube length is 555 mm, top tube length is 580 mm, head tube angle and seat tube angle are both 73 degrees, head tube length is 190 mm, chainstay length is 422 mm, bottom bracket drop 80 mm, fork offset 53 mm, top tube height 829 mm, crank length 175 mm and the wheelbase is 1031 mm.
