GIANT Roam 4

The "Roam 4" model from GIANT, released in 2022, is a versatile bike characterised by its robust construction and carefully selected components. Priced at 629 EUR, it offers excellent value for money.

The Roam 4’s frame is an AluxX frame with a quick-release (QR) mechanism and offers a maximum tyre clearance of 53 mm, making it suitable for various types of terrain. The fork is an SR Suntour NEX HLO Coil with 63 mm of travel and a quick-release mechanism, ensuring a comfortable ride on uneven trails.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro TKD 143 disc brakes with 160 mm rotors, which, in combination with the Tektro TKD 143 brake levers, deliver reliable and controlled braking power. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Tourney 7-speed system and a Shimano Tourney 3-speed shifter, offering a total of 21 gears. The front derailleur is also a Shimano Tourney model.

The bottom bracket is a cartridge model, whilst the crankset is made of forged aluminium and is fitted with 48/38/28T chainrings and a chain guard. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200 with a 12–32T range, and the drivetrain is powered by a KMC Z7 chain.

The handlebars are a GIANT Connect XC model with a width of 680 mm, complemented by GIANT Connect Ergo grips. The stem is a GIANT Sport model with a length of 80 mm. The rims are GIANT GX28, fitted with GIANT CrossCut tyres in size 700x42c and 30 TPI, which are supplied with inner tubes.

The hubs are also GIANT GX28 Disc models, and the spokes are made of 14G stainless steel. The saddle is a GIANT Sport model, mounted on a GIANT D-Fuse seatpost. The bike is compatible with a GIANT KSA18 kickstand and a GIANT Rack-It Metro (Lite) luggage rack.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 410 mm, a stack of 620 mm, a seat tube length of 460 mm, a top tube length of 600 mm, a head tube angle of 71 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees. The head tube length is 130 mm, the chainstay length is 450 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 62 mm, the fork offset is 42 mm and the standover height is 756 mm. The crank length is 170 mm and the wheelbase measures 1098 mm.
