GIANT Reign E+ 2

The 2022 GIANT Reign E+ 2 is a high-performance e-mountain bike designed for challenging trails and technical terrain. Priced at 5,899 EUR, it offers an impressive combination of advanced technology and robust design.

The Reign E+ 2’s frame consists of an AluxX SL main frame and a Maestro rear triangle with Flip-Chip geometry. A carbon rocker arm and an integrated speed sensor complete the frame design, which offers 160 mm of travel and a 12 x 148 mm axle width. The bike is EnergyPak Plus compatible, allowing for additional flexibility in battery capacity.

Braking performance is provided by SRAM Code R brakes with 4-piston calipers and disc sizes of 220 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear. The brake levers are also from SRAM Code R and offer precise control. The drivetrain is a SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed system, combined with a SRAM NX Eagle shifter, ensuring smooth and reliable shifting performance. Front suspension is provided by a RockShox ZEB Select fork with Charger RC damping and 170 mm of travel, which is specifically optimised for e-bikes and features a 15x110 mm Boost standard. The rear shock is a Fox Float DPX2 Performance EVOL, fitted with a trunnion mount and specially tuned.

The Reign E+ 2 is fitted with flat pedals and features a Praxis e-Cadet+ crankset and a SRAM X-Sync Eagle 36T chainring. The cassette is a SRAM NX Eagle PG-1230 with a gear range of 11–50T, whilst the drivetrain is powered by a SRAM NX Eagle PowerLock system.

Steering and handling are provided by a GIANT Contact 35 Trail handlebar with a 20 mm rise and GIANT Tactal single lock-on grips. The stem is a GIANT Contact SL 35 with a length of 100 mm and a handlebar width of 420 mm.

The wheels feature GIANT AM rims in sizes 29" at the front and 27.5" at the rear; they are tubeless-ready and have an internal width of 30 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF (29 x 2.6") at the front and Maxxis Highroller II (27.5 x 2.5") at the rear; both are foldable, tubeless and feature special rubber compounds for optimum grip and durability.

The hubs are GIANT eTracker models and the spokes are from Sapim (Race / E-Lite). The saddle is a GIANT Romero, mounted on a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost (30.9 mm), which offers different height adjustments depending on frame size (S: 125 mm, M: 150 mm, L/XL: 170 mm).

The drivetrain is assisted by a Yamaha SyncDrive Pro2 motor with 85 Nm of torque. The battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is the EnergyPak Smart Integrated version. The charger is an EnergyPak Smart Charger with a current rating of 6A.
