GIANT Explore E+ 1

The "Explore E+ 1" model from GIANT, released in 2022, is a versatile e-bike designed specifically for use on a variety of terrains. Priced at 3,549 EUR, it offers a balanced blend of performance, comfort and technology. The frame is made from AluxX material and is fitted with an integrated speed sensor. It is also EnergyPak Plus-compatible (GTS version only) and features a 135mm QR axle.

Reliable braking performance is provided by the Shimano BR-MT200 brakes with 180mm discs, controlled by the Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers. The drivetrain comprises a Shimano Deore M5120 Shadow+ 10-speed rear derailleur and a Shimano Deore M4100 2-speed front derailleur, complemented by a Shimano Deore front derailleur. The SR Suntour NEX E25 NLO Coil fork, with 63mm of travel and a 15x100mm axle, ensures a comfortable ride.

The lighting comprises an Axa BlueLine Steady E6 front light with 30 lux and an Axa BlueLine Steady E6 rear light, which ensure good visibility in road traffic. The pedals are made of aluminium and provide a stable platform. The crankset is made from forged alloy with 48–36T chainrings, whilst the cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M4100 with 11–42T. The GIANT Connect XC Riser handlebars, with a 31.8 mm diameter and 19 mm rise, combined with GIANT Contact Ergo Max Plus grips and a GIANT Contact stem (90 mm length), provide ergonomic and comfortable handling. The rims are GIANT eX 2 Tubeless Ready, fitted with GIANT Crosscut Gravel 2 tyres in size 700x45c (622x45), which are also Tubeless Ready and feature reflective strips. The hubs are GIANT eTracker and the spokes are made of stainless steel.

The Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Moderate saddle, mounted on a GIANT 30.9mm seatpost, ensures additional comfort on longer rides. A GIANT KSA18 kickstand and a MIK luggage rack complete the specification. The motor is a Yamaha SyncDrive Sport with 70Nm of torque, powered by an EnergyPak Smart Integrated battery with a capacity of 625Wh. The display is the RideDash EVO, combined with RideControl Ergo controls. An EnergyPak Smart Charger with a 6A charging capacity is also included.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 407 mm, a stack of 630 mm, a seat tube length of 530 mm and a top tube length of 600 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle 73 degrees, the head tube length 195 mm and the chainstay length 425 mm. The bottom bracket drop is 80 mm, the fork offset is 50 mm and the standover height is 807 mm. The crank length is 175 mm and the wheelbase measures 1056 mm in total.
