Ghost Square Trekking 2.8 AL W

The "Square Trekking 2.8 AL W" model from Ghost, released in 2020, is a versatile trekking bike that stands out for its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made of lightweight yet sturdy aluminium, giving the bike a maximum load capacity of 140 kg.

Braking power is provided by Tektro HD-M285 disc brakes with 160 mm rotors, fitted to both the front and rear. The brake levers are also from Tektro and offer reliable and precise braking performance. Gear changes are handled by the Shimano Altus RD-M310 8-speed rear derailleur and the Shimano FD-TX800 front derailleur, ensuring precise and smooth gear changes.

The SR Suntour SF14 NEX DS suspension fork, with 63 mm of travel, ensures comfort on uneven terrain and effectively absorbs shocks. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a Spanninga Brio XDO front light and a Spanninga Vivo XDS rear light, which ensure good visibility and safety on the road.

Other features include FPD NW-499 pedals, a Thun Jive bottom bracket and a Shimano Tourney FC-TX801 crankset with 48-38-28 chainrings. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG31 with a range of 11–30 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a KMC Z51 chain.

The bike features GHOST SQUARE handlebars with a width of 680 mm and a rise of 25 mm, as well as Herrmans Ergo grips for added comfort. The stem has a diameter of 31.8 mm. The rims are Rodi Excalibur XC models measuring 622 x 19 mm, with 32 spokes at the front and rear. The tyres are Continental Contact Plus in size 37-622, which are known for their durability and good grip.

The front hub is a Shimano Hub Dynamo DH-3D32-QR and the rear hub is a Formula DC 22 QR, combined with Sapim 2.0 spokes. The saddle is a Justek 3050 DRN model, mounted on a GHOST SP-DC1 seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm, secured by a GHOST XC 68 seatpost clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm.

The bike is also fitted with GHOST RG40 mudguards and a GHOST SQUARE Trekking Carrier luggage rack, making it ideal for everyday use and longer rides. The Square Trekking 2.8 AL W thus offers a balanced blend of comfort, safety and functionality at a price of 699 EUR.
