Ghost Square Trekking 2.8 AL U

The Ghost “Square Trekking 2.8 AL U” model from 2020 is a versatile trekking bike which, at a price of 699 EUR, offers excellent value for money. The bike’s frame is made from high-quality aluminium, ensuring a robust yet lightweight construction. The maximum load capacity is 140 kg, guaranteeing high load-bearing capacity.

The bike is fitted with Tektro HD-M285 brakes, featuring 2/2 pistons and 160 mm discs. These hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power in a variety of weather conditions. The brake levers are also from Tektro and contribute to ease of use. The front brake disc, a Tektro Light Wave Style rotor with a diameter of 160 mm, completes the braking system.

Gear shifting is handled by the Shimano Altus RD-M310 8-speed rear derailleur, supported by the Shimano FD-TX800 front derailleur. The bike’s fork is an SR Suntour SF14 NEX DS with 63 mm of travel, which provides extra comfort on uneven terrain.

The lighting comprises a Spanninga Brio XDO front light and a Spanninga Vivo XDS rear light, which ensure good visibility and safety on the road. The pedals are FPD NW-499, and the bottom bracket is a Thun Jive model. The crankset is a Shimano Tourney FC-TX801 and offers a gear ratio of 48-38-28. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG31 with 11–30 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a KMC Z51 chain.

The handlebars are a GHOST SQUARE model with a width of 680 mm, a rise of 25 mm and a diameter of 31.8 mm. The grips are ergonomic Herrmans Ergo Grips, which provide extra comfort. The stem is also a GHOST SQUARE model with a diameter of 31.8 mm.

The rims are Rodi Excalibur XC 622x19 mm with 32 spokes, both front and rear. The tyres are Continental Contact Plus in size 37-622, which are known for their good traction and durability. The front hub is a Shimano Hub Dynamo DH-3D32-QR, whilst the rear hub is a Formula DC 22 QR. The spokes are Sapim 2.0.

The saddle is a Justek 3050 HRN model, mounted on a GHOST SP-DC1 seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm. The seatpost clamp is a GHOST XC 68 with a diameter of 34.9 mm. The bike is also fitted with GHOST RG40 mudguards and a GHOST SQUARE Trekking Carrier luggage rack, making it ideal for commuters and longer cycle tours.
