GASGAS G Light Trail 2.0

The 2022 GASGAS G Light Trail 2.0 is a versatile e-mountain bike priced at 5,799 EUR, placing it in the upper mid-range. The bike’s frame is made of carbon and is designed for 29-inch wheels. It seamlessly integrates the battery and, with 150 mm of suspension travel, offers plenty of headroom for challenging trails. The maximum rider weight is 120 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 20 kg.

The G Light Trail 2.0’s braking system utilises high-quality components from Formula. At the front, it features the Formula Cura 4 with a 4-piston hydraulic disc brake and a 203 mm brake disc. At the rear, a Formula Cura with a 2-piston caliper and a 180 mm brake disc is fitted. The brake levers are designed as 2-finger levers and can be individually adjusted.

The Shimano SLX system handles the gear changes, offering precise 12-speed shifting with an RD-M7100 Shadow Plus rear derailleur and an SL-M7100 Rapidfire Plus shifter. The gear ratio is supported by a Shimano CS-M7100 cassette with 10–51T and a KMC e12S drivetrain.

Suspension is provided by the RockShox Revelation RC fork with DebonAir technology and 150 mm of travel, as well as the RockShox Deluxe Select rear shock, ensuring a comfortable ride over uneven terrain.

The e-bike’s drive is provided by Yamaha’s AIR DRIVE motor, which delivers sufficient assistance with an output of 250 W and a torque of 50 Nm. The integrated Yamaha ML500 battery, with a capacity of 500 Wh, supplies power to the motor and can be charged quickly using a 4 A Yamaha fast charger. Information on riding conditions is displayed via the Yamaha Interface X LED display, which is equipped with ANT and Bluetooth.

Other features include Race Face Turbine handlebars with an 8° sweep and a 20 mm rise, Continental Mountain King tyres in size 29x2.3, and a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle made from titanium. The seatpost is a GASGAS Pro Dropper Post with a diameter of 31.6 mm.

With a reach of 486 mm, a stack of 647 mm and a wheelbase of 1290 mm, the G Light Trail 2.0 offers balanced geometry, supported by a head tube angle of 66 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74 degrees. The frame features a top tube length of 630 mm, a seat tube length of 470 mm, a head tube length of 130 mm and a chainstay length of 475 mm, all of which contribute to a stable and comfortable riding position.
