Fuji BLACKHILL EVO 29 EQP

The 2021 "BLACKHILL EVO 29 EQP" model from Fuji is a versatile e-mountain bike designed for both challenging off-road riding and urban use. Priced at €4,499, it offers an impressive combination of performance and features. The frame is made from Fuji A6-SL aluminium and is designed to accommodate the integrated Bosch Power Tube battery with a capacity of 500 Wh. The frame features a 4-bar suspension system, a tapered head tube and a Boost 148x12mm axle, which provides additional stability.

The bike is fitted with an SR Suntour Aion Air RC-PCS 29 fork, which offers 130mm of travel and allows adjustment of both compression and rebound damping. The rear shock is a Suntour TriAir 3-CR with a lockout function, which ensures a comfortable ride. The braking system consists of TRP Slate-T4 and X2 hydraulic disc brakes, fitted with four pistons at the front and two pistons at the rear. The brakes are fitted with large 203mm front and 180mm rear rotors to ensure reliable braking performance.

The drivetrain utilises the tried-and-tested Shimano Deore system, which, together with the Shimano Deore shift lever, enables precise and smooth gear changes. The drivetrain is complemented by a Shimano HG601-11 11-speed cassette. The FSA crankset is specifically designed for the Bosch Gen.4 motor and features a 32-tooth chainring with a chain guard.

The bike is fitted with a fourth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX motor, which delivers 250W of power and 85Nm of torque. The maximum assisted speed is 25 km/h. Control is via the Bosch Purion display, which offers a user-friendly interface.

The Lezyne Hecto E65 front light and the Herman’s H-Cargo Narrow rear light, which is integrated into the rear luggage rack, provide additional comfort and safety. The Fuji aluminium mudguards offer protection against splashes and dirt. The wheelset consists of Shimano MT400-Boost CL hubs and WTB ST i25 TCS 2.0 rims, which are tubeless-compatible. The tyres are Maxxis Crossmark II in size 29” x 2.25”, which provide excellent grip and durability.

The handlebar system comprises an Oval Concepts 205 handlebar and an Oval Concepts 600AM stem, which ensure an ergonomic riding position. The saddle is a WTB High Tail Trail, specifically designed for e-bikes, and is supported by an Oval Concepts 300 seatpost.
