Focus IZALCO MAX DISC 8.8

The "IZALCO MAX DISC 8.8" model from Focus, released in 2020, is a high-performance road bike equipped with state-of-the-art technology and high-quality components. The price for this model is 3,699 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from MAX technology carbon and is designed for disc brakes. It features a BB86 bottom bracket, a 142x12 mm thru-axle with RAT Evo technology and a flat mount for 160 mm brakes. The internal cable routing ensures a clean, tidy look and protects the cables from external influences. Weighing just 7 kg, the IZALCO MAX DISC 8.8 is one of the lightest models in its class.

The brakes are Shimano Ultegra R8020 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm discs at the front and rear, offering reliable braking performance. The front derailleur is a Shimano Ultegra R8000, which, together with the crankset – also a Shimano Ultegra R8000 with 52/36T – and the cassette, ensures precise gear changes. The drivetrain is completed by the Shimano CN-HG701 chain.

The fork is also made from MAX technology carbon and features an integrated design. It has a 100x12 mm thru-axle with RAT Evo technology and a flat mount for 160/140 mm brakes. The internal brake cable routing contributes to aerodynamic efficiency.

The handlebars and stem are made of aluminium, with the BBB Deluxe handlebars featuring a 125 mm drop and a 70 mm reach. The grips are made of Focus Bartape SL, which ensures comfort. The stem, also from BBB Deluxe, has a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of +/- 7 degrees.

The tyres are Continental Ultra Sport II in size 700 x 25C; they are foldable and have a width of 25 mm. The wheelset is a 28" Novatec R5, which features a disc centre-lock mounting. The rims are made of carbon with an internal width of 20 mm and a height of 50 mm.

The saddle is a Prologo Scratch model, mounted on an Izalco Max aero carbon seatpost. The seatpost is D-shaped, 350 mm long and has a 15 mm set-back, which helps ensure an optimal riding position. Overall, the IZALCO MAX DISC 8.8 is a well-designed road bike which, with its high-quality components and light weight, is suitable for both ambitious amateur cyclists and professionals.
