Focus ATLAS 8.7

The 2024 Focus "ATLAS 8.7" is a versatile and high-performance bike designed for demanding riders. Priced at €3,099, this bike offers excellent value for money given its specifications and technology. The frame of the ATLAS 8.7 is made of carbon and features integrated disc brakes and C.I.S. integration. The frame is designed for a Press-Fit BB86 bottom bracket and features a 148x12 mm thru-axle as well as 160/160 mm flat-mount brake mounts. The internal cable routing ensures a tidy appearance and protects the cables.

The bike’s maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst its own weight is just 9 kg, thanks to the lightweight construction of the carbon frame and fork. The fork is also made of carbon and features a 110x12 mm thru-axle and 160/160 mm flat-mount brake mounts. It offers multiple mounting options and internal brake cable routing.

The ATLAS 8.7’s braking system consists of Shimano GRX ST-RX400 brakes combined with BR-RX400 brake levers, ensuring precise braking. Both brake discs have a diameter of 160 mm. The drivetrain is complemented by a Shimano GRX RD-RX820 rear derailleur with 12 speeds and a Shimano GRX FD-RX820 front derailleur, providing a total of 24 gears. The shifter is the Shimano GRX ST-RX610, also with 12 speeds.

The crankset is a Shimano GRX FC-RX610 and is designed for the 12-speed drivetrain, whilst the cassette is a Shimano 105 R7100 model. The drivetrain is completed by a Shimano 105 CN-M6100 chain. The handlebars are FOCUS JD RA85 with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a drop of 116 mm, a reach of 74 mm and a flare of 10°. The integrated FOCUS C.I.S. 2.0 aluminium stem is 100 mm long and features a mount for Garmin or Wahoo devices.

The tyres on the ATLAS 8.7 consists of foldable WTB Riddler tyres in size 700 x 45C, mounted on a DT Swiss G1800 wheelset, which features a 12x110 mm axle at the front and a 12x148 mm axle at the rear. The saddle is the fi'zi:k Taiga model, mounted on a BBB FlyPost carbon seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm.

The bike’s geometry is designed for comfort and efficiency, with a reach of 420 mm, a stack of 630 mm and a top tube length of 606 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The head tube length is 180 mm, the chainstay length is 425 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 75 mm and the fork offset is 50 mm. The crank length is 175 mm and the wheelbase measures 1088 mm in total.
