FALTER S 5.0

The "S 5.0" model from FALTER, released in 2024, is a versatile bicycle that stands out for its well-thought-out features and robust construction. The trapezoidal frame provides a stable and comfortable base, supporting a maximum load of up to 130 kg. Weighing in at 14 kg, the bike remains manoeuvrable and easy to handle. Priced at 1049 EUR, this model is an attractive option in the mid-price range.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-MT200 brakes at the front and rear, operated by Shimano BL-MT201 brake levers. The brake discs measure 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear, ensuring reliable braking power. The bike’s gear system is fitted with the Shimano Cues SL-U4000 system and offers a total of 18 gears, controlled via the Shimano Cues SL-U4000 shift levers. The front derailleur is a Shimano Cues FD-U4010, which works in combination with the Shimano Cues FC-U4000 crankset featuring 46x30 teeth and a length of 175 mm. The Shimano Cues CS-LG300 cassette offers a range of 11–36 teeth across nine gears.

The rigid aluminium fork ensures direct power transfer and precise handling. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a Herrmans MR 8 front light (60 lux) and an integrated Herrmans H-Cargo rear light, ensuring good visibility in traffic. The Marwi SP-823 pedals provide a secure grip whilst riding.

The S 5.0’s handlebars are MATRIX HB-RB11, with a width of 620 mm, a 9-degree bend and a 25 mm rise. The Herrmans DD36 Ergo grips offer additional comfort on longer rides. The MATRIX AS007 stem has a diameter of 31.8 mm and a length of 90 mm. The headset is an FSA H2246A.

The wheels are fitted with X11 Inox Eyelets rims, each with 32 holes. The Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres with reflective strips ensure good grip and visibility. The front hub is a Shimano DH-3D37 with 32 holes, whilst the rear hub is a Shimano FH-TX500 with a quick-release axle. The spokes are made of black stainless steel.

Riding comfort is provided by the Selle Royal Essenza Plus saddle, which is mounted on a MATRIX SP-2016 seatpost measuring 27.2 mm x 350 mm. SKS mudguards protect against dirt and splashes, whilst the Ursus Mooi kickstand ensures the bike stands securely. The Atran Tour Pro luggage rack allows for the transport of additional luggage, making the bike practical for both longer tours and everyday use. Overall, the FALTER S 5.0 is a well-equipped bike that is suitable for both city cycling and leisure rides.
