FALTER S 3.0

The 2024 FALTER S 3.0 model is a versatile and robust bicycle, suitable for both everyday use and longer rides. Priced at 779 EUR, it offers good value for money. The diamond frame contributes to a stable ride, and the maximum load capacity of 130 kg demonstrates the bike’s durability. Weighing in at 15 kg, the S 3.0 is relatively light and therefore easy to handle.

The braking system consists of aluminium Promax TX123D V-brakes, which operate reliably at both the front and rear. The Shimano ST-TX800 brake levers are precise and user-friendly. The bike is fitted with the Shimano Tourney ST-TX800 8-speed derailleur, offering a total of 24 gears. This range of gears allows for flexible adaptation to different riding conditions. The gear lever is also from Shimano and ensures smooth gear changes.

The rigid aluminium fork gives the bike direct steering and helps to reduce weight. Lighting is provided by the MATRIX Sport Eco front light with 20 lux and the integrated Herrmans H-Cargo rear light, which ensures good visibility even in the dark. The Marwi SP-823 pedals offer a secure grip, whilst the Shimano Tourney FC-TY301 crankset, with its three chainrings (48x38x28 teeth), guarantees efficient power transfer.

The Shimano CS-HG31 cassette, with 11–32 teeth, completes the drivetrain, which is fitted with a KMC Z8 chain. The MATRIX HB-RB11 handlebars, with a width of 640 mm and a 9-degree bend, provide a comfortable hand position. The MATRIX stem measures 90 mm and ensures a stable connection between the handlebars and the frame. The FSA H2246A headset completes the steering components.

The wheels are fitted with X-Alt rims at the front and X-11 rims at the rear, both with 32 holes, and are fitted with Continental Speed Ride Reflex tyres, which provide good grip and puncture protection. The hubs are from Shimano, with the front hub (DH-C3003) and the rear hub (FH-TX500) featuring a quick-release axle. Silver stainless steel spokes complete the wheelsets.

The Selle Royal Essenza Plus saddle offers comfort even on longer rides and is supported by a MATRIX seatpost (27.2 mm x 350 mm). SKS mudguards protect against dirt and water, whilst the Ursus Mooi kickstand ensures the bike stands securely. The Atran Tour Pro luggage rack allows you to carry luggage, making the bike suitable for everyday use. Overall, the FALTER S 3.0 proves to be a well-designed bike that combines functionality and comfort.
