FALTER R 4.0

The "R 4.0" model from FALTER, launched in 2024, is a reliable and well-equipped bicycle priced at 979 euros. The bike’s frame features a wave design, which makes it easy to mount. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg and a kerb weight of 17 kg, the bike boasts a robust build suitable for a wide range of users.

The R 4.0’s braking system consists of Promax TX123D V-brakes in aluminium at both the front and rear, which, in combination with the Promax BL-46AP aluminium brake levers, provide reliable braking performance. The 7-speed Shimano Nexus gear system is operated via the Shimano Nexus SL-C3000-7 gear lever, enabling simple and precise gear selection. The Rigid Hi-Ten rigid fork contributes to the bike’s robustness, whilst lighting is provided by a retro LED front light with 20 LUX and a MATRIX LED rear light with a parking light function. The integrated Shimano hub dynamo ensures a constant power supply to the lights.

The bike is fitted with VP-608 pedals and a MATRIX VP-BC73C bottom bracket. The MATRIX PRO-A38 crankset, with 38 teeth and a length of 170 mm, is made of aluminium, which contributes to the durability of the drivetrain. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z610EPT anti-rust chain, which is renowned for its resistance to rust.

The handlebars, a MATRIX HL NR-AL14, is 595 mm wide and has a rise of 66 mm, which, together with the MATRIX VLG-1168 grips and the MATRIX HL HS-C82-5 stem (100 mm long), ensures a comfortable riding position. The rims are made of aluminium and, in combination with the Impac Big Pack Cream Reflex tyres in size 50-622, they offer a stable and comfortable ride. The front hub is fitted with a Shimano DH-C30003 hub dynamo and the rear with a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub gear with coaster brake, connected by stainless steel spokes.

The saddle, a cream-coloured MATRIX VL 6142, and the MATRIX SP-222 aluminium seatpost provide additional comfort. The bike features retro-style aluminium-painted mudguards and a Herrmans metal chain guard, which protects the drivetrain from dirt. An Ursus Easy centre-mounted kickstand provides stability when parking the bike. The luggage rack is fitted with an Atran Velo Cargo Jumbo at the front and a Standwell SW-CA011SG aluminium rack with a spring-loaded flap at the rear, offering additional transport options.

The geometry of the R 4.0 comprises a top tube length of 634 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 70 degrees. The bottom bracket drop is 70 mm, the fork offset is 50 mm and the fork installation height is 415 mm. The wheelbase of 1136 mm contributes to the bike’s stability and riding comfort. Overall, the FALTER R 4.0 offers a well-balanced combination of features and quality, making it an attractive choice for everyday use.
