FALTER R 3.0

The FALTER R 3.0, launched in 2024, is a versatile bike model that impresses with its well-thought-out features and robust construction. Priced at 869 EUR, it offers excellent value for money for everyday cyclists and leisure riders. The Wave frame gives the bike comfortable ergonomics and allows for a maximum load of up to 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 18 kg.

The R 3.0’s brakes consist of aluminium Promax TX123D V-brakes at both the front and rear, operated via Promax BL-39AP brake levers with 4-finger control. This ensures reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. The gear system is a Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub gear, operated via a Shimano Nexus SL-3S42 gear lever, which enables simple and precise gear changes.

The model’s rigid fork is a Rigid Hi-Ten, which ensures stability and durability. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a retro-style LED front light (20 LUX) in chrome and a MATRIX LED rear light with a parking light function, both powered by a Shimano DH-C30003 hub dynamo with 3 watts of power. The specification is complemented by VP-608 pedals, a MATRIX VP-BC73C bottom bracket and a MATRIX PRO-A38 crankset with 38 teeth.

The R 3.0’s handlebars are a MATRIX HL NR-AL14 with a width of 595 mm and a rise of 66 mm, which promotes a comfortable riding position. The grips are MATRIX VLG-1168, and the stem is a MATRIX HL HS-C82-5 with a length of 100 mm. The hollow-section aluminium rims are fitted with Impac Big Pack Cream Reflex tyres in size 50-622, which ensure good road holding at both the front and rear.

Riding comfort is ensured by the cream-coloured MATRIX VL 6142 saddle mounted on a MATRIX SP-222 aluminium seatpost. Painted steel mudguards in a retro design offer protection against splashes, whilst a Herrmans metal chain guard covers the chain. The Ursus Easy centre-mounted kickstand provides stability when parking the bike.

The FALTER R 3.0 also features an Atran Velo Cargo Jumbo front luggage rack and a Standwell SW-CA011SG aluminium rear luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap, which make transporting loads easier. The bike’s geometry is characterised by a reach of 403 mm, a stack of 628 mm and a top tube length of 634 mm. The head tube angle is 70 degrees, as is the seat tube angle, which contributes to balanced riding dynamics. The wheelbase measures 1136 mm and the bottom bracket height is 288 mm. Overall, the FALTER R 3.0 offers a well-thought-out specification for everyday use and occasional tours.
