FALTER L 4.0 CARGO

The “L 4.0 CARGO” model from the “FALTER” brand, released in 2024, is a versatile bicycle characterised by its well-thought-out features and robust construction. Priced at 999 EUR, it offers excellent value for money. The trapezoidal frame ensures stability and comfort, whilst the maximum load capacity of 140 kg guarantees high load-bearing capability. The bike itself weighs 19 kg, making it relatively light for a cargo bike.

The braking system consists of a Sturmey Archer drum brake at the front and a rear drum brake with a coaster brake, which, together with the aluminium 4-finger brake levers, provide reliable braking performance. The Shimano Nexus 7-speed gear system allows for easy operation and adaptation to different riding conditions, supported by the Shimano Nexus SL-C3000-7 gear lever.

The Unicrown rigid fork, made from Hi-Ten steel, contributes to the bike’s durability and ease of maintenance. Lighting is provided by a Büchel City LED with 20 LUX at the front and an LED with a parking light function at the rear, both of which are powered by a hub dynamo. This ensures constant illumination without the need to change batteries.

The bike is fitted with aluminium Classic pedals, a square-taper bottom bracket and a MATRIX crankset with 38 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z-610EPT chain, whilst the sprocket has 21 teeth. The black steel MATRIX Dutch-style handlebars and the TPE Kraton ergonomic grips offer comfort and control whilst riding. The stem is made of stainless steel and measures 180 mm in length with a diameter of 25.4 mm.

The hollow-chamber aluminium rims and the CST Metropolitan Palmbay Reflex tyres in size 47-622 ensure a stable ride and good traction. The front hub is a Sturmey Archer hub dynamo with a drum brake, whilst the rear hub features a Shimano Nexus 7-speed internal gear hub with a coaster brake. Galvanised spokes contribute to the wheels’ durability.

The Selle Royal Drifter saddle and the MATRIX aluminium seatpost in black offer comfort even on longer rides. Painted steel mudguards protect against dirt and water, whilst a closed Hesling chain guard shields the chain from external elements. A centre-mounted aluminium kickstand ensures the bike stands securely, and a mechanical frame lock provides additional security. The luggage rack is made of steel, with a black front rack and a rear steel tube rack with a spring-loaded flap, making the bike ideal for carrying loads.
