FALTER E 9.8 RT PLUS

The 2021 E 9.8 RT PLUS from FALTER is a robust and high-performance e-bike that stands out for its high-quality features and solid build. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium, which not only gives the bike stability but also a reasonable weight of 28 kg, with a maximum load capacity of 180 kg. The price for this model is 4,099 euros.

Braking performance is provided by a Shimano hydraulic four-piston disc brake (BR-MT420), which, in combination with the Shimano BL-MT401 brake levers and the rotors (SM-RT64/60) – 203 mm in diameter at the front and 160 mm at the rear – ensures reliable deceleration. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub gear system with a coaster brake, controlled via the Shimano Nexus SL-C7000-5 gear lever.

The e-bike is fitted with a Suntour Mobie 25 AIR suspension fork, which offers 63 mm of travel and features a remote lockout, enhancing riding comfort on a variety of surfaces. The lighting system, comprising the Litemove front light (110 lux) and the Herrmans H-Cargo LED rear light, ensures good visibility even in the dark.

Power is delivered via a Gates CDX system with a MATRIX Delta crankset and a 28-tooth sprocket. The pedals are reinforced VP-658 models with a 9 mm axle. The handlebars are Ergotec M-Bar Level 6 with a width of 700 mm, complemented by Herrmans DD36 grips and an angle-adjustable Ergotec Swell XR stem.

The rims are made of aluminium with a hollow-chamber profile, 36 holes and stainless steel eyelets. The Schwalbe Energizer Plus tyres, size 50-622, ensure good grip on the road. The front hub is a Shimano HB-MT400 and the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 5-speed internal gear hub with a coaster brake, reinforced by black stainless steel spokes.

The Selle Royal Viaggio saddle, mounted on an Ergotec Skalar seatpost, provides additional comfort. SKS mudguards, a Horn Catena A08 chain guard, an Ursus King 2 rear stand and an Abus lock complete the specification. The Massload aluminium luggage rack with MIK system and spring-loaded flap offers practical transport options.

Power is provided by a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive motor with an output of 250 W and a torque of 63 Nm. The integrated Bosch Powertube battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is controlled via the Bosch Kiox display, which allows for intuitive operation.
