FALTER C 5.0

The "C 5.0" model from FALTER, released in 2024, offers a balanced blend of functionality and comfort at a price of 1,079 EUR. The Wave frame not only gives the bike an attractive look, but also makes it easy to get on and off. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg and a kerb weight of 18 kg, the C 5.0 is well suited to everyday use.

The Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear wheels ensure reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions, supported by Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers. The front brake disc measures 180 mm in diameter and is mounted using a Centre Lock system, whilst the rear brake disc has a diameter of 160 mm and is fitted with a 5-bolt system.

The bike is fitted with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed in-hub gear system, operated by the Shimano Nexus SL-C6000-8 gear lever. This gear system offers a good range of gears for different terrains. The Suntour NEX DS suspension fork, with 63 mm of travel, ensures additional riding comfort by effectively absorbing bumps on the trail.

Lighting is provided by the Herrmans MR4 LED front light with 35 LUX, whilst the Herrmans H-Trace rear light ensures visibility in road traffic. Power is supplied via a Shimano DH-3D37 CL disc-brake hub dynamo, which provides a reliable power source for the lights.

The spec is rounded off by Marwi SP-823 pedals, a MATRIX VP-BC73C bottom bracket and a MATRIX PRO-A38 crankset with 38 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z6 chain, whilst the sprocket has 19 teeth. The MATRIX HL TR-AL-2 handlebars are 630 mm wide and, together with the Herrmans DD36 grips, offer comfortable handling. The angle-adjustable MATRIX MQ-527 stem allows for individual adjustments to the riding position.

The model features hollow-section aluminium rims and Continental Ride City Reflex tyres in size 47-622, which ensure good rolling performance. The hubs are from the Shimano range; the front hub is a hub dynamo, whilst the rear hub incorporates the Nexus 8-speed internal gear system with a coaster brake.

The Selle Royal Freeway saddle, together with the MATRIX Harmony suspension seat post, ensures a comfortable riding experience. Additional features such as SKS A56 mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard, an Ursus Mooi centre-mount kickstand and an Atran Velo Tour 365 BS luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap and integrated rear light round off the overall package.

The bike’s geometry, with a reach of 390 mm, a stack of 694 mm and a top tube length of 605 mm, is designed for comfort. The 71-degree head tube angle and 72-degree seat tube angle ensure a balanced riding position. Overall, the FALTER C 5.0 offers a well-thought-out design for everyday use and is a reliable choice for commuters and leisure cyclists alike.
