Excelsior Urban-E

Excelsior’s “Urban-E” model from 2022 is a well-designed and functional e-bike, engineered for urban use. Priced at EUR 1,899, it offers a solid specification that ensures both comfort and safety. The braking system consists of SHIMANO “MT-180/160” CL brakes, which, in combination with the SHIMANO “MT-200” brake levers and a 180 mm front brake disc, ensure reliable braking performance. The SHIMANO “Deore” gear lever is used for gear changes, enabling precise shifting.

The aluminium fork keeps the bike lightweight and ensures pleasant riding stability. In terms of lighting, the Urban-E is fitted with a CONTEC “DLUX” front light, which provides 30 lux, and a HERRMANS “H-Trace” rear light, ensuring good visibility in traffic. The VP “990” pedals and the BAFANG torque sensor in the bottom bracket contribute to an efficient pedalling feel.

Power is transmitted via a KMC “X10” chain, whilst the KALLOY handlebars, with a width of 640 mm and a diameter of 31.8 mm, enable comfortable handling. The VELO “VLG-1168” grips offer additional comfort. The stem, also from KALLOY, fits the handlebars perfectly. The 32-hole hollow-section rims with disc brake system are robust and durable. The SCHWALBE “Marathon GT Tour” tyres with reflective strips ensure good grip and visibility.

The front hub is fitted with a SHIMANO “HB-TX505” and the rear hub with a BAFANG rear motor. The BAFANG “RM 370” motor delivers 36 V and 250 W with a torque of 30 Nm, providing powerful assistance whilst riding. The GREENWAY battery, with 36 V and 350 Wh, offers sufficient capacity for extended rides around town, whilst the BAFANG “DP C11” LCD display with four assistance levels allows for easy control. The GREENWAY 2 Ah charger ensures rapid recharging.

The VELO “VL-1962” saddle and the KALLOY aluminium seatpost (Ø 31.6 x 350 mm) offer comfort even on longer journeys. The SKS “Infinity” mudguards, including a luggage rack, are practical for carrying panniers. The URSUS “Wave” kickstand is adjustable and ensures the bike stands securely. Overall, the Excelsior Urban-E offers a balanced combination of performance, comfort and functionality, ideal for everyday use in the city.
