Electra Townie Go! 5i Step-Thru

The "Townie Go! 5i Step-Thru" model from Electra, released in 2023, is a comfortable e-bike that stands out for its well-thought-out features and user-friendliness. Priced at €2,799, this bike offers a wide range of features that are ideal for both daily commuting and leisurely rides. The frame is made from high-quality 6061-T6 aluminium and utilises the patented Flat Foot Technology®, which ensures a comfortable riding position and makes getting on and off the bike easier. The maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 24 kg.

Safety is ensured by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels. The brakes are fitted with Shimano RT10 discs, which feature a Centre Lock mount and a diameter of 180 mm. Gear changes are controlled via a Shimano Nexus 5-speed twist shifter with a visual gear indicator, which allows for simple and intuitive operation. The high-tensile steel Unicrown fork contributes to the bike’s stability and durability.

Lighting is an important feature, and the Townie Go! 5i Step-Thru is fitted with Spanninga LED lights at both the front and rear to ensure you are clearly visible in low-light conditions. The aluminium platform pedals are fitted with a non-slip rubber surface to ensure a secure grip.

The drive is assisted by a Bosch Active Line Plus motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 50 Nm, enabling speeds of up to 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerPack Performance 500 battery is mounted on the down tube and offers a capacity of 500 Wh, which can be controlled via the Bosch Purion display. The standard Bosch 4A charger (220–240 V) ensures the battery charges quickly.

The aluminium handlebars, featuring a custom bend, are 65 cm wide and have a rise of 10 cm, whilst ergonomic, hand-stitched synthetic leather grips provide additional comfort. The saddle is ergonomically designed and fitted with shock-absorbing elastomers, making longer rides more comfortable. The seatpost is made of aluminium and is micro-adjustable.

The Schwalbe Fat Frank 26" x 2.35" balloon tyres are fitted with a Kevlar®Guard puncture protection belt, which increases durability and reduces the risk of punctures. The wheelset consists of painted or anodised aluminium rims with a 36-hole low-flange hub and Centre Lock brake disc mount.

Additional features such as painted aluminium mudguards, a MIK-compatible luggage rack and a sturdy aluminium centre stand round off the overall package. The compact packaging dimensions ensure the bike is easy to transport.
