Diamant 885 (Einstieg: mittel)

The "885" model from Diamant, released in 2024, is a bicycle positioned in the mid-range entry-level category and is available for €999. The frame is made from Alpha Smooth aluminium and features internal cable routing, which contributes to a clean, tidy appearance. It is also compatible with belt drives and has a post-mount disc brake mount. The bicycle’s maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst its kerb weight is 16 kg.

The braking system consists of Promax DSK-330 mechanical disc brakes with a disc diameter of 160 mm at both the front and rear, fitted with flat-mount brackets. The brakes are combined with Shimano RT10 discs and a Centre Lock disc mount. The gear lever is a Shimano Nexus Revo with an 8-speed system, offering a wide range of gear ratios. The fork is a rigid aluminium construction that ensures direct steering.

For lighting, a Buechel Retro Sport LED light is fitted at the front and a Spanninga NR.9 LED light at the rear, ensuring good visibility in the dark. The platform pedals are made of aluminium and feature a non-slip rubber surface. The crankset is made of forged aluminium, measuring 170 mm in length, with a 44-tooth chainring, complemented by a chain guard. The Shimano rear sprocket has 19 teeth and the drivetrain uses a KMC S1 chain.

The handlebars are Humpert Toulouse with a diameter of 25.4 mm, whilst the ergonomic Herrmans Clik grips with clamps ensure comfort. The stem is a Humpert Ergotec Eagle shaft stem, 80 mm long with a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset is made of steel with a threaded design and has a diameter of 1 1/8".

The tyres are Schwalbe Road Cruiser with a wire bead and a size of 42-622. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Connection hollow-section rims with an internal width of 20 mm and Presta valves. The hub dynamo and gear system are by Shimano Nexus.

The saddle is a Diamant Retro model, mounted on a Bontrager aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm, a 12 mm offset and a length of 330 mm. The bike is fitted with Curana aluminium mudguards, a Pletscher Comp 18 kickstand and a MIK-compatible luggage rack with a maximum load capacity of 25 kg.

The bike’s geometry is defined by a seat tube length of 45 mm, a top tube length of 54 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74 degrees. The head tube length is 12 mm, the chainstay length is 47 mm, the standover height is 65 mm and the wheelbase measures 109 mm. These dimensions contribute to a stable and comfortable riding position.
