Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 400

The "Reaction Hybrid Performance 400" model from Cube, released in 2021, is a versatile e-bike that stands out thanks to its high-quality components and well-thought-out design. The bike is available at a price of 2149 EUR and offers a wide range of technical features suitable for both everyday use and sporty rides.

The frame of the Reaction Hybrid Performance 400 is made from Superlite aluminium and was manufactured using Gravity Casting technology. The Agile Ride Geometry ensures an agile and comfortable ride. The frame features a tapered head tube and internal cable routing, which not only gives it a clean look but also makes maintenance easier. The fully integrated battery also contributes to the sleek design. In addition, the frame offers mounting points for a kickstand, mudguards and a luggage rack.

Weighing 24 kg, the bike is robust and stable without being too heavy. Braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200) with 180 mm rotors at the front and rear, which work reliably even in wet conditions. The drivetrain consists of a 9-speed Shimano RD-M3100-SGS derailleur, operated via the Shimano SL-M3100-R Rapidfire-Plus shifter. This enables precise and rapid gear changes.

The SR Suntour XCM ATB Coil suspension fork, with 100 mm of travel, provides additional comfort and control on rough terrain. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a CUBE Shiny 50 Lux front light and an ACID Mudguard Rear Light PRO-E rear light, both operating at 12V DC.

The headset varies depending on the wheel size: the 27.5-inch version uses the ACROS AZX-1041 BlockLock headset, whilst the 29-inch version uses the ACROS AZF-1039. Both variants offer stable and precise steering. The rims are CUBE EX23, 32H, Disc, Tubeless Ready, and the tyres are Schwalbe Smart Sam with K-Guard in size 2.35.

The hubs are by Shimano (FR: HB-TX505, R: FH-TX505), both fitted with quick-release (QR) mechanisms and CentreLock brake disc mounts. The saddle is a Natural Fit Sequence model, mounted on a CUBE Performance seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. The saddle is secured using a CUBE Varioclose clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm.

ACID 65 mudguards are fitted to protect against dirt and wet conditions, and a CUBEstand Cmpt ensures the bike stands securely when parked. The bike is powered by a third-generation Bosch Performance Line motor with a torque of 65 Nm and an output of 250 watts. The Bosch PowerTube 400 battery supplies the necessary power, which is monitored and controlled via the Bosch Purion display.
