Conway GRV 800 Alu

The "GRV 800 Alu" from Conway, launched in 2021, is a versatile gravel bike that stands out for its high-quality components and solid construction. The frame is made of lightweight aluminium, which contributes to the bike’s robustness and durability. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, the bike offers sufficient load-bearing capacity for both rider and luggage. The price for this model is 1799 EUR.

The GRV 800 Alu’s braking system is fitted with SHIMANO “GRX BR-RX400” disc brakes, which, in combination with the SHIMANO “GRX ST-RX600” brake levers, deliver reliable braking performance. The front and rear brake discs are each 160 mm in diameter, ensuring smooth and controlled deceleration. The bike’s gear system features the SHIMANO “GRX RD-RX810”, an 11-speed rear derailleur which, together with the SHIMANO “GRX FD-RX810” front derailleur and the SHIMANO “GRX ST-RX600” shift levers. In total, the rider has 22 gears at their disposal, allowing for flexible adaptation to different types of terrain.

The bike’s fork is made of carbon and is designed for disc brakes, which reduces weight and improves riding stability. The SHIMANO “BSA” bottom bracket and the SHIMANO “GRX FC-RX600 11” crankset with 30/46 teeth complement the drivetrain, which is rounded off by the SHIMANO “HG601” cassette. The SHIMANO “CS-HG700” cassette offers a range of 11–34 teeth, enabling efficient power transfer.

The EASTON “EA50 AX” handlebars and the EASTON “EA50” stem ensure a comfortable and ergonomic riding position, whilst the CONWAY “Ultra 2K” grips offer additional comfort. The headset is fitted with the IS42 / IS52 standard. The RODI “Ready GR” rims are robust and durable, combined with SCHWALBE “G-One Allround classic” tyres in size 700 x 40 on both the front and rear wheels, which ensure excellent traction on a variety of surfaces.

The SHIMANO hubs – the “HB-RS470” at the front (12 x 100 mm) and the “FH-RS470” at the rear (12 x 142 mm) – are designed for durability. The spokes are made of stainless steel, which contributes to the stability of the wheelset. The CONWAY “1489 sport light” saddle and the EASTON “EA50” seatpost, with a diameter of 27.2 mm, offer comfort even on longer rides. Overall, the Conway GRV 800 Alu is a well-designed gravel bike that is suitable for both sporty riding and longer tours.
