Conway Cairon T 500

The 2021 "Cairon T 500" from Conway is a high-quality e-bike which, at a price of 3,699 EUR, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The frame is made from robust aluminium and incorporates the Bosch Intube battery, giving the bike a modern and sleek design. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, the Cairon T 500 is suitable for both everyday use and longer rides.

The braking system comprises TEKTRO “HD-T390” brakes and brake levers, which, together with the 180 mm brake discs at the front and rear, ensure reliable deceleration. The gear system is supplied by SHIMANO, featuring a “Deore RD-M6100 Shadow Plus” 12-speed rear derailleur and matching shift levers, which enable precise gear changes. The ROCKSHOX “Recon Silver RL” fork, with 80 mm of travel, provides additional comfort and stability on uneven terrain.

For lighting, the Cairon T 500 is fitted with a CONTEC “LED Aurora 100 E+ 40” front light and an AXA “Blueline” LED rear light, which ensure good visibility even in poor lighting conditions. The stem is an adjustable ERGOTEC “Octopus”, which, in combination with the ZS44 / ZS56 headset, allows for individual adjustment of the riding position. The rims are CONWAY “X6” hollow-section rims and the tyres are SCHWALBE “Energizer Active Plus”, which are known for their good traction and puncture resistance.

The saddle is a SELLE ROYAL “Vivo Athletic Ergo”, mounted on a CONWAY Patent seatpost. Plastic mudguards from SKS, a HESLING “Move” chain guard and an URSUS aluminium kickstand provide additional comfort and protection. An AXA “Bock XXL” lock provides security, whilst the ATRAN “Cummute Pro” luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap is useful for carrying loads.

Power is provided by a BOSCH Gen.4 “Performance CX” mid-drive motor with 36 V and 250 W. The battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is a BOSCH PT lithium-ion model with BMS. The BOSCH “Kiox” display offers four assistance levels as well as a push-assist function and is controlled via a remote control. Overall, the Cairon T 500 offers a balanced mix of performance, comfort and functionality, making it an attractive choice for discerning e-bike riders.
