Centurion Speeddrive 500 EQ

The 2022 Centurion Speeddrive 500 EQ is a versatile bicycle that stands out for its solid build quality and well-thought-out features. The frame is made of aluminium and bears the name ‘Speeddrive’, which reflects the model’s sporty character. Weighing just 12 kilograms, the bike is lightweight yet robust enough to support a maximum rider weight of up to 135 kilograms. The model is suitable for riders between 160 cm and 175 cm in height.

The Speeddrive 500 EQ is fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes – specifically the HD-R290 model, which uses organic brake pads at both the front and rear. Braking performance is enhanced by 160 mm Centre Lock brake discs from the TR160-35 series. The drivetrain is provided by Shimano Tiagra, which features a 10-speed system and a Tiagra shifter. The bike’s fork is a CENTURION ALLOY TA road/gravel fork, which ensures stability and comfort on a variety of surfaces. Lighting is provided by a TRELOCK Airflow 70 front light and an AXA Juno Dyn Steady AC rear light, which ensure sufficient visibility in the dark. The pedals are VP-899 models and offer a secure grip whilst riding.

The bike features PROCRAFT Flat Pro handlebars with a width of 660 mm, which, together with the PROCRAFT Retro II grips, ensure ergonomic handling. The stem is a PROCRAFT Comp II with a length of 80 mm and an angle of 7 degrees. The wheels consist of PROCRAFT Altitude MPD19 rims, fitted with WTB Byway tyres in size 40-622 tanwall. The hubs are from Shimano: the DH-UR705-3D model at the front and the FH-RS470 model at the rear.

The saddle is a PROCRAFT Retro II, mounted on a PROCRAFT Pro III seatpost. For added comfort and protection, HEBIE mudguards with a width of 53 mm are fitted. A PROCRAFT Kick II kickstand ensures the bike stands securely, whilst the CENTURION Racktime Commute 28" luggage rack provides additional storage space.

The bike’s geometry is thoughtfully designed, with a reach of 373 mm and a stack of 549 mm. The seat tube length is 470 mm, whilst the top tube length is 531 mm. The head tube angle is 70 degrees and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees, enabling a balanced riding position. Other dimensions include a head tube length of 120 mm, a chainstay length of 430 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 75 mm, a top tube height of 745 mm and a wheelbase of 1023 mm.
