Cannondale Trail 5

Cannondale’s “Trail 5” model from 2024 is a versatile mountain bike available for €899. It features a robust frame made from SmartForm C3 Alloy with SAVE technology, which ensures a comfortable ride. The frame is fitted with a 1-1/8" head tube, post-mount disc brakes and StraightShot internal cable routing, and is also compatible with a dropper post. The bottom bracket is a sealed cartridge bearing with a square taper.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (model M275) with 160 mm rotors, operated by Tektro brake levers. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Deore M4100 groupset with a 10-speed drivetrain. The shifter and front derailleur are also part of the Shimano Deore M4100 series. The crankset is a Shimano M4100 with 36/26 teeth, and the cassette is a Sunrace 11-42, 10-speed.

The Trail 5’s fork is an SR Suntour XCR32 RL with 100 mm of travel and remote lockout, ensuring optimum suspension performance. The fork has an offset of 42 mm (27.5") or 46 mm (29"). The pedals are Cannondale platform pedals.

The handlebars are Cannondale riser bars made from 6061 aluminium, with a width of 720 mm, a rise of 25 mm and a backsweep of 8 degrees. The stem is also made from 6061 aluminium, with a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of 7 degrees. The grips are Cannondale Dual-Density grips, which provide extra comfort.

The wheelsets consist of WTB SX19 rims with 32 stainless steel spokes (14g). The tyres are Schwalbe Rocket Rick in size 27.5/29 x 2.25" with K-Guard puncture protection. The hubs are Shimano HBTX 505 at the front and Shimano FH-TX505 at the rear.

The saddle is a Cannondale Stage 3, and the seatpost is made from Cannondale 3, 6061 aluminium, with a length of 350 mm (XS – SM) or 400 mm (MD – XL).
