The 2024 Cannondale Scalpel Carbon SE 2 is a high-performance mountain bike designed for demanding trails and versatile off-road riding. With a price tag of EUR 3999, this model offers an impressive combination of advanced technology and high-quality components.

The frame of the Scalpel Carbon SE 2 is made of carbon and offers a suspension travel of 120 mm. It is equipped with Proportional Response Tuned technology, which allows it to be optimised for different types of riders. The FlexPivot chainstays, the PF30-83 bottom bracket shell, the tapered head tube and the Speed Release 12 mm thru axle contribute to the bike's stability and efficiency. The Ai Offset also ensures improved tyre clearance and a balanced geometry.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT501 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors at the front and 160 mm rotors at the rear. The brake levers are also from Shimano's MT501 series, which ensures reliable and precise brake control. Shifting is provided by a Shimano XT rear derailleur and Shimano Deore M6100 shifters with 12 gears. The absence of a front derailleur simplifies maintenance and reduces the overall weight of the bike.

The RockShox SID Select suspension fork with 120 mm travel and DebonAir technology as well as the RockShox SIDLuxe Select+ shock with adjustable rebound and 2-pos mode ensure outstanding suspension performance. This enables a comfortable and controlled ride on a wide variety of terrain.

The handlebars are made of Cannondale 3 Riser, 6061 Alloy, and have a width of 780 mm, a rise of 30 mm and a backsweep of 8 degrees. The grips are Cannondale TrailShroom, while the stem is also from the Cannondale 3 series and has an angle of 7 degrees.

The wheels consist of Stan's NoTubes Crest D rims, which are tubeless ready, and DT Swiss Factory spokes. The hubs are from Shimano, with the front hub being an MT400 model with a 15x110mm thru axle and the rear hub an MT410 model with a 12x148mm thru axle.

The saddle is a Cannondale Scoop Shallow Sport with steel stays, mounted on a Cannondale DownLow Dropper seatpost, which is internally routed and offers different adjustment travel depending on the frame size (100 mm for S, 125 mm for M-L, 150 mm for XL).
