Cannondale 700 M Topstone 1

The 2021 "700 M Topstone 1" model from Cannondale is a versatile gravel bike that stands out for its high-quality components and robust construction. The frame is made from SmartForm C2 aluminium and features a 12x142 mm thru-axle, a tapered head tube and flat-mount brake mounts. The StraightShot internal cable routing ensures a clean look and protects the cables from external damage. The frame also offers several mounts for luggage and water bottles, making the bike ideal for long tours and bikepacking.

The braking system consists of Shimano GRX 400 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm RT54 rotors at the front and rear. The brake levers are also from the GRX series (GRX 600) and deliver precise and reliable braking performance. The rear derailleur is a Shimano GRX 810 Shadow RD+, renowned for its stability and shifting precision. The shift levers are Shimano GRX 600 11-speed levers, which allow for smooth and rapid gear changes. The front derailleur is a Shimano GRX 800, which is mounted directly onto the frame.

The bike has a total of 22 gears, achieved through a combination of an FSA Omega AGX+ crankset with 46/30 teeth and a Shimano 105 cassette with 11–34 teeth. The drivetrain is complemented by a KMC X11 chain, which is also designed for 11-speed systems. The fork is made from BallisTec full carbon and features a 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" steerer tube as well as a 55 mm OutFront offset. It is ready for flat-mount disc brakes and features internal cable routing as well as a 12x100 mm thru-axle.

The bike’s cockpit features a Cannondale 3 handlebar made from butted 6061 aluminium with a 16-degree drop, ensuring a comfortable and ergonomic hand position. The grips are made from Cannondale handlebar tape with a thickness of 3.5 mm, offering additional comfort. The stem is also a Cannondale 3 model made from 6061 aluminium, with a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of 7°. The headset is integrated and accommodates sizes from 1-1/8" to 1-1/4".

The wheelsets consist of WTB ST i23 TCS rims with 28 spokes, which are tubeless-ready. The tyres are WTB Riddler TCS Light in size 700 x 37c, also tubeless-ready. The hubs are from Formula and are fitted with CentreLock brake disc mounts; the front hub has a 12x100 mm thru-axle and the rear hub a 12x142 mm thru-axle. The spokes are made of stainless steel and have a gauge of 14g.

The saddle is a Fabric Scoop Radius Sport with steel rails, mounted on a Cannondale 3 seatpost made from 6061 aluminium, measuring 27.2 x 350 mm. Pedals are not included with this model.
