Bulls SONIC EVO 29

The “SONIC EVO 29” model from the “Bulls” brand, released in 2024, is a modern and high-performance e-mountain bike, available at a price of 4,199 EUR. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium and was manufactured using hydroforming technology. It is designed for a 1.8 steerer tube and features internal cable routing and a telescopic seatpost. The maximum load capacity is 150 kg, which is indicative of its robust construction.

Braking performance is provided by the SHIMANO BR-MT420 hydraulic disc brake, combined with a 203 mm front brake disc (SHIMANO SM-RT30 CL) and a 203 mm rear brake disc (SHIMANO RT-EM300 CL). Gear changes are handled by the SHIMANO Cues RD-U6000 system with 10 speeds, operated via the SHIMANO SL-Cues 10 shift lever.

Front suspension is provided by the BULLS Lytro 34 Air fork with 120 mm of travel. Lighting can be optionally supplemented via the MonkeyLink Connect system, whilst the model comes fitted as standard with a MonkeyLink Twinlight rear light. The pedals are ZECURE MTB pedals, which ensure a secure grip.

The crankset is from BULLS and measures 170 mm, whilst the cassette is a SHIMANO LG400-10 with a range of 11–48T. The drivetrain is supported by the SHIMANO CN-LG500-10/11 chain. The handlebars are BULLS riser bars, complemented by Comfort Sport grips and a BULLS MTBi-Sport stem, which is CCS Slot Mount-ready. The headset is an ACROS 310.52.570R1.

The rims are Rodi TRYP30 evo tubeless-ready and the tyres are SCHWALBE Smart Sam K-Guard 65-622, which ensure good traction and puncture resistance. The hubs are SHIMANO HB-MT400 at the front and SHIMANO FH-MT400-B at the rear. The saddle is a Prologo Proxim 400 wide, mounted on a Limotec Alpha 1 seatpost with a diameter of 34.9 mm and a 170 mm adjustment range, operated by the SL-MT500-IL lever.

An ABUS battery lock ensures the battery’s security. At the heart of the drive system is the Bosch Performance Line CX motor (Smart System) with a top speed of 25 km/h and a torque of 85 Nm. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh, which is charged using a 4 A charger. The display is a Bosch LED Remote, which clearly shows all the key information.
