BH Bikes ATOM CITY WAVE

The "ATOM CITY WAVE" model from "BH Bikes", launched in 2023, is a versatile e-bike that is ideal for city cycling and longer rides. Priced at EUR 2,099, it offers a balanced combination of performance, comfort and functionality.

The bike’s frame is made from a lightweight and robust aluminium alloy, which contributes to the bike’s stability and durability. The maximum load capacity is 165 kg, whilst the bike’s own weight is 24 kg. This allows for a high load capacity without compromising agility and handling.

Safety and control are ensured by Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm brake discs at both the front and rear. The brake levers are also Shimano MT200, guaranteeing reliable braking performance. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Acera 8-speed system, controlled by the Shimano Acera shift lever. The FSA 38T-170mm crankset and the Shimano HG31 8-speed cassette (11-32T) complete the drivetrain.

The SR Suntour NEX DS fork, with 63 mm of travel, provides additional comfort on uneven roads and paths. The lighting system comprises a B&M Dopp 35 Lux front light and a B&M Toplight rear light, ensuring good visibility in low-light conditions.

Other features include anti-slip pedals, a BH City Alloy handlebar 640 mm wide, ergonomic grips from BH and a BH Traditional stem. The saddle is a comfortable Selle Royal Freeway Gel, mounted on an alloy seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm. Mudguards, a chain guard and a Racktime luggage rack are also fitted, enhancing the bike’s suitability for everyday use.

The wheels feature an alloy double-wall construction with stainless steel spokes and Shimano hubs at the front and rear. The tyres are Kenda K1129 700x45C, which ensure good traction and stability.

The electric drive is provided by a BH 1E-36V motor, powered by a TS System battery with a capacity of 500 Wh. The BH X Display Lite provides all the necessary information for controlling the e-bike system. A winter battery cover is also included to protect the battery from cold temperatures.

The frame geometry is well thought out, with a seat tube length of 540 mm, a top tube length of 635 mm and a head tube angle of 70 degrees. The seat tube angle is 74.5 degrees, whilst the head tube length measures 180 mm. The chainstay length is 460 mm and the bottom bracket height is 297 mm, contributing to a balanced and comfortable riding position.
