Bergamont Horizon 7 Gent

The "Horizon 7 Gent" model from Bergamont, released in 2022, is a versatile trekking bike available at a price of 1,299 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from ultra-lightweight AL-6061 aluminium with a 28-inch size, resulting in a total weight of 15 kg. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 130 kg.

The Horizon 7 Gent’s braking system consists of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200), which are operated by the corresponding brake levers (BL-MT200). The brake discs measure 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear (Shimano SM-RT10). Gear changes are handled by the Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur (RD-T8000, Shadow) in combination with Shimano Deore shift levers (SL-T6000, 3x10-speed, RapidFire Plus shifters) and a Shimano Deore front derailleur (FD-T6000). The crankset (Shimano FC-T521) has three chainrings (48/36/26t) and is fitted with a chain guard. The cassette (Shimano CS-HG500) offers a range of 11–32t and is complemented by a KMC X10 chain.

Front suspension is provided by a Suntour NRX D fork (LO, 63 mm, preload adjust). Lighting is provided by a B&M Avy N Plus front light (40 lux, LED, parking light) and a B&M Toplight 2 C Plus rear light (LED, parking light). The pedals are made from aluminium in a trekking design.

The handlebars (BGM Pro, riser-style) have a 15° back sweep, and the grips (BGM Comfort, Ergo, double density, clamp version) offer additional comfort. The stem (BGM Pro) is adjustable to multiple positions between 10° and 25° and has a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is a semi-integrated A-Headset (BGM Comp, 1 1/8").

The rims (BGM Pro X15, disc, 32h) are robust and are complemented by Schwalbe Marathon Almotion tyres (Raceguard, reflective strip, 50-622). The hubs consist of a Shimano hub dynamo (DH-3D37, centre-lock, disc, quick-release) at the front and a Shimano FH-M4050 hub (centre-lock, disc, quick-release) at the rear. The spokes are made from black stainless steel.

The saddle (Syncros Capilano Trekking, memory foam) and the suspension seatpost (Post Moderne PM-780E) provide additional comfort on long rides. The bike is also fitted with SKS mudguards (with stainless steel struts), an Atran kickstand and a luggage rack. The luggage rack (Racktime / BGM Trekking Pro) features the Snapit 2.0 system and an integrated mudguard mount.
