Bergamont Horizon 6 Gent anthracite

The “Horizon 6 Gent anthracite” model from Bergamont, released in 2024, is a versatile and robust trekking bike available for 999 EUR. The frame is made from a lightweight AL-6061 tube set and is designed for 28-inch wheels. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg and a kerb weight of 17 kg, the bike is both stable and light enough for a variety of riding conditions.

The Horizon 6 Gent is suitable for riders between 157 cm and 167 cm in height. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200) at the front and rear provide reliable braking power, supported by the Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers and the Shimano SM-RT10 brake discs (180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear).

The drivetrain comprises a Shimano RD-M3100 Shadow rear derailleur and a Shimano FD-M370 front derailleur, controlled by Shimano SL-M2010 Rapidfire Plus shifters with 27 speeds (3x9). The crankset consists of a Shimano FC-T3010 with 48/36/26 teeth and is complemented by a Shimano BB-UN101 bottom bracket. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200 with a range of 11–32 teeth, whilst the chain is a KMC X9.

The Suntour NEX HLO DS fork offers 63 mm of travel, ensuring comfort on uneven terrain. For lighting, a B&M Upp N Plus front light with 35 lux and a parking light, as well as a B&M Toplight 2 C Plus rear light with LED and a parking light, are integrated. The aluminium trekking pedals, the Syncros Capilano trekking saddle and the Post Moderne PM-780E seatpost all contribute to the rider’s comfort.

The Horizon 6 Gent is also fitted with a BGM Comp Riser handlebar (640 mm wide, 42 mm rise) and an adjustable BGM Comp stem. The rims are BGM Pro X15 Disc with 32 black steel spokes, whilst the tyres are Schwalbe Road Cruiser with Kevlarguard and reflective strips.

Other features include a Shimano hub dynamo (DH-3D37) at the front, a Shimano hub at the rear, SKS mudguards with stainless steel struts, an SKS Chainblade chain guard, an Atran kickstand and a BGM Trekking aluminium luggage rack with the Racktime Snapit 2.0 system.

The frame geometry features a seat tube length of 455 mm, a top tube length of 595 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees, a seat tube angle of 73 degrees, a head tube length of 130 mm and a chainstay length of 455 mm. Further dimensions include a reach of 404 mm, a stack of 607 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 60 mm, a fork offset of 42 mm, a top tube height of 785 mm, a fork installation height of 464 mm, a crank length of 170 mm, a wheelbase of 1099 mm and a bottom bracket height of 304 mm.

When packed, the bike measures 21 mm in width, 121 mm in height and 190 mm in length. Its gross weight is 24,300 g. The “Horizon 6 Gent anthracite” model is therefore a well-equipped trekking bike, suitable for both everyday use and longer rides.
