Bergamont Horizon 6 Gent

The "Horizon 6 Gent" model from the "Bergamont" brand, released in 2022, offers a balanced combination of comfort and functionality at a price of 949 EUR. The frame is made from lightweight AL-6061 aluminium and measures 28 inches, giving the bike a robust yet lightweight ride. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs in at 17 kg.

The braking system features Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, which, together with the Shimano BL-MT200 brake levers, ensure reliable and consistent braking performance. The brake discs measure 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear (Shimano SM-RT10). The gear components include a Shimano RD-M3100 Shadow derailleur and Shimano SL-M2010 shift levers with a 3x9-speed drivetrain, supported by the Shimano FD-M370 front derailleur.

Front suspension is provided by the Suntour NEX HLO DS fork with 63 mm of travel and adjustable preload, which ensures additional comfort on uneven terrain. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a B&M Upp N Plus LED front light with 35 lux and a parking light function, as well as a B&M Toplight 2 C Plus rear light.

Other features include aluminium trekking pedals, a Shimano BB-UN101 bottom bracket, a Shimano FC-T3010 crankset with chain guard (48/36/26 teeth) and a Shimano CS-HG200-9 cassette (11–32 teeth). Power is transmitted via a KMC X9 chain.

The handlebars are BGM Comp Riser Bars with a 30° back sweep, complemented by ergonomic BGM Comfort grips. The stem is also a BGM Comp model with variable clamping (25.4 mm). The headset is semi-integrated and measures 1 1/8 inches.

The bike is fitted with BGM Pro X15 rims and Schwalbe Road Cruiser tyres, which feature Kevlarguard puncture protection and reflective strips (47-622). The hubs are by Shimano, with the front wheel featuring a Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo. The spokes are made of black steel.

The Syncros Capilano Trekking saddle, together with the Post Moderne PM-780E suspension seatpost, offers additional comfort. SKS mudguards with stainless steel struts, a chain guard (SKS Chainblade), an Atran kickstand and a BGM Trekking luggage rack with the Racktime Snapit 2.0 system and integrated mudguard mount complete the package.

The Bergamont Horizon 6 Gent 48 is therefore a well-equipped trekking bike, suitable for both everyday use and longer tours.
