Bergamont E-Trailster Expert

Bergamont’s 2022 “E-Trailster Expert” model is a state-of-the-art e-mountain bike designed for challenging trails and off-road adventures. Priced at 5,299 EUR, it offers a wide range of high-quality components and technical features. The frame is constructed from an ultra-light AL-6061 tube set and is designed for 29-inch wheels. It also incorporates a PowerTube battery and offers 150 mm of suspension travel. The maximum permissible weight is 135 kg, whilst the bike’s kerb weight is 24 kg.

The braking system utilises Shimano BR-MT520 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. The front brake disc has a diameter of 203 mm (Shimano SM-RT64). The drivetrain utilises the Shimano Deore XT RD-M8100 Shadow Plus system, combined with Shimano Deore SL-M6100 Rapidfire Plus shifters in a 1x12-speed configuration.

The suspension consists of a RockShox Yari RC fork with 160 mm of travel and a RockShox Deluxe Select rear shock with rebound adjustment. The crankset is an ethirteen espec Plus with 34 teeth, whilst the chain is a KMC e12S. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a 10–51-tooth range.

The handlebars are Syncros Hixon 2.0 riser bars, 780 mm wide with a 12 mm rise, fitted with Ergon GA20 grips. The stem is a Syncros FL2.0 with an angle of +/-6°. The headset is a semi-integrated, tapered BGM F13-X A-Headset.

The wheelsets consist of Alex EXR30 rims, 30 mm wide, fitted with Schwalbe Hans Dampf Evo tyres in size 29x2.60". The hubs are Shimano HB-MT400-B (front) and Shimano FH-MT410-B (rear), both with Centre Lock and disc brake mounts. The spokes are Sapim Leader.

The saddle is an Ergon SM10 E-Mountain, mounted on a Syncros Duncan 2.5 dropper post with a 150 mm drop (or 125 mm for frame size ‘S’).

Power is provided by a fourth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX Cruise motor, which delivers 250 W at 36 V and assists up to a speed of 25 km/h. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube with a capacity of 625 Wh. The system is controlled via the Bosch Purion display and the battery can be charged using the Bosch Standard Charger (4A).

The Bergamont E-Trailster Expert S is therefore a powerful and versatile e-mountain bike that is ideally suited to both challenging trails and long rides.
