Bergamont E-Horizon SUV Comfort

The ‘E-Horizon SUV Comfort’ model from Bergamont, released in 2022, is a high-quality e-bike designed for a wide range of uses and characterised in particular by its comfortable features. Priced at 3,899 EUR, this bike offers a host of technical refinements and a robust build.

The frame of the E-Horizon SUV Comfort is made from 28" lite AL-6061 tubing and seamlessly integrates the PowerTube battery. The maximum permissible weight is 140 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 27 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-MT420 hydraulic disc brakes with 4-piston calipers, controlled via Shimano BL-MT402 brake levers. The brake discs measure 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear (Shimano SM-RT30). The drivetrain is fitted with the Shimano Deore XT Linkglide system, comprising an RD-M8130 rear derailleur and an SL-M8130 shifter, which offers a 1x11-speed drivetrain with Rapidfire Plus technology.

The Suntour NVX 30 RL DS fork, with 75 mm of travel, ensures comfortable suspension on uneven terrain. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a B&M Dopp LED front light (35 lux) and a B&M Toplight 2 C LED rear light. The aluminium trekking pedals provide a secure grip.

Power is provided by the fourth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX motor, which delivers 250 W at 36 V and assists up to speeds of 25 km/h. The Bosch PowerTube battery, with a capacity of 625 Wh, ensures a long range, whilst the Bosch Intuvia display clearly shows all the important information. The battery is charged using the Bosch Standard Charger, which operates at a charging current of 4A.

Other features include the FSA CK-745 crankset with 38 teeth, the Shimano CS-LG600-11 cassette (11–50 teeth) and the Shimano CN-LG500 drivetrain. The Syncros handlebars are 680 mm wide and have a 15° backsweep, whilst the BGM Comfort Ergo grips provide additional comfort. The stem is adjustable (BGM Pro), and the headset is a semi-integrated FSA NO.57SC-1 A-Headset.

The BGM Pro X17 rims are fitted with Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus tyres (54-622), which feature reflective strips for improved visibility. The hubs are Shimano HB-MT200 and FH-UR600 models with CentreLock disc brake mounts and quick-release skewers. Black stainless steel spokes complete the durable wheelsets.

The Syncros Capilano Trekking saddle with memory foam and the Syncros Duncan seatpost with 120 mm of droop range and remote control offer a high level of comfort. Curana Apollo mudguards with stainless steel struts, an SKS Chainbooster chain guard, a Syncros centre stand and a Racktime/BGM Trekking Pro luggage rack with the Snapit 2.0 system and integrated mudguard mounts round off the specification.

The Bergamont E-Horizon SUV Comfort is therefore a versatile and comfortable e-bike that is ideally suited for both everyday use and longer rides.
