Bergamont Bergamonster 20 Plus blue

The "Bergamonster 20 Plus blue" model from Bergamont, released in 2024, is a versatile children’s bike available for 449 EUR. This bike is characterised by its lightweight and robust frame, made from a lite AL-6061 tube set, with a 20-inch wheel size. The maximum load capacity is 65 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 10 kg.

The Bergamonster 20 Plus blue’s braking system consists of mechanical disc brakes by Tektro (model MD-M280) at both the front and rear. The brake levers are also by Tektro and made of aluminium, with an adjustable grip width for optimal adaptation to the child’s hand size. The brake discs have a diameter of 160 mm (model TR-160-24).

The bike is fitted with a Shimano RD-TX800 derailleur, which offers eight gears, controlled by the Shimano SL-RS45 twist-grip shifter. The rigid fork (BGM rigid fork) is made of aluminium and features a disc brake mount.

Other features include Marwi SP-700 pedals, a sealed cartridge bottom bracket (BSA), a Prowheel crankset with 32 teeth and a length of 127 mm, and a Sunrace CS-M55 cassette with a gear ratio of 11–34 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z8 chain.

The handlebars (BGM Comp) are riser handlebars with a width of 560 mm and are fitted with BGM Kids grips. The stem is also from BGM Comp and features a Syncros stem protector. The headset is a semi-integrated A-Headset (model FP-H807).

The rims are Shining MP32 models and are designed for disc brakes. The tyres are Kenda Slant Six in size 20x2.60", fitted to both the front and rear. The hubs are BGM Comp models with 6-hole disc mounts and quick-release skewers.

The saddle is a BGM Bergamonster model, attached to a BGM Comp seatpost. An aluminium kickstand from BGM ensures the bike stands securely.

The bike is supplied in packaging measuring 21 mm wide, 63 mm high and 111 mm long, and has a gross weight of 14.1 kg. The Bergamonster 20 Plus blue is available in ‘one size’ and offers a balanced combination of stability, safety and riding enjoyment for young cyclists.
