As a biker weighing just over 70 kilos, you basically have no problems with any brakes. At least as far as braking power and stability are concerned. However, there are exceptions. The affordable Sram G2 (RSC), for example. The G2 is the successor to the Guide. It is available in the aftermarket in two versions. Inexpensive (RSC) and more expensive (Ultimate). The aluminium brake calliper and brake lever are based on the tried and tested Sram Code. So there's nothing to complain about in terms of brake lever ergonomics. The tool-free grip width and pressure point adjustment are also pleasing and work perfectly.
Now to the criticism: The tested G2 RSC has too little braking power! It decelerates too timidly and that with my flyweight. I love manuals, but with this braking system (despite the 200 mm brake disc at the front and 180 mm at the rear) it was a frightening experience every time. Even on the trail, the brakes didn't give me much confidence. In short: Our test model lacked bite. I replaced the brake pads, but that didn't help either. Our tip: Treat yourself to the tried and tested, much-praised Sram Code.
