Sram Level: new lightweight two-piston brake
After Sram brought its four-piston brakes up to scratch with the Guide, the new Sram Level series with five disc brake models is aimed at cross-country and marathon riders.

At 318 grams for the top model (direct mount with 160 millimetre CLX rotor), the new Sram Level brakes are aimed at cross-country riders and weight-conscious trail bikers.

The Level series comprises a total of five different brake models. The price per brake (without disc) is between 69 and 324 euros. While the top model Sram Level Ultimate replaces the well-known XX, the Level entry-level model will be the counterpart to the previous DB1.

Sram Level: Slimmer and lighter than the Guide brakes

Technically, the new Sram Level is based on many details that have already proven themselves in the Guide brakes. For example, the sniffer bore, seals, reservoir and bladder have been adopted. A quick bleed system and DOT 5.1 brake fluid are also identical. However, the lever housing is slimmer and the brake calliper is a two-piston system (21 millimetre piston diameter). While the guide brakes (RSC) also have a pressure point adjustment, this option is not available for the entire Level series from Sram. The grip width can of course be adjusted, albeit only with a tool. The brake levers also run on ball bearings for a low-friction and direct feel.
