Evaluation & test summary of the Shimano XTR Race

The Race version of the new XTR saves 64 grams compared to the Trail model thanks to the magnesium brake calliper and a lighter lever. However, the braking force is lower and the brake tends to fade earlier. From a weight of 85 kilos, the brake disc can melt under extreme loads.
