CONCLUSIONS: Hope has also given the Tech 3 E4 the art of milling par excellence, making the hearts of anodised tuners beat faster. At 449 grams, the Hope with two-piece disc weighs the most, closely followed by the Shimano XT. In return, there is tool-free adjustment for lever width and free travel, even if the adjustment wheels are quite sharp-edged. In practice, the stable pressure point and lever ergonomics are impressive. However, we would have expected more braking power from the four-piston anchor. Bottom of the league.
BIKE judgement² VERY GOOD
Hysteresis loop: red = dry braking, blue = wet braking, the horizontal axis shows the manual force, the vertical axis the braking force in Newtons.
The score for braking force and stability is based on the laboratory and practical results.
The price is for one front brake.
²The BIKE judgement is independent of price. It is not an addition of the individual ratings.
