CONCLUSION: Both caliper and master cylinder have been available from Formula before, but never in this combination. The Italians combine the lightweight brake lever of the R1 Racing with pull piston with the oval brake calliper of the R0. As a result, the R0 Racing generates a decent braking force and enough stability to bring bikers weighing 85 kilos safely down to the valley in any terrain. As with the BFO, the 105-kilo tester resulted in a bent brake pad backing plate. The additional high pad wear caused by the heavy rider led to a downgrading of the stability.
BIKE judgement² VERY GOOD
Hysteresis loop: red = dry braking, blue = wet braking, the horizontal axis shows the manual force, the vertical axis the braking force in Newtons.
The score for braking force and stability is based on the laboratory and practical results.
The price is for one front brake.
²The BIKE judgement is independent of price. It is not an addition of the individual ratings.
BIKE judgements: super, very good, good, satisfactory, with weaknesses, unsatisfactory.
