The Bengal Helix 3 SL is a reasonably priced entry-level brake, albeit with mediocre braking performance.

The stylish brake in Jack Wolfskin design already loses ground to the expensive competition during assembly: Although the lever can be mounted on both sides, it lacks a folding clamp. The golden dial for adjusting the reach is stiff and the pressure point of the smooth, simply riveted lever is spongy. With the 160 mm discs, the almost 700 gram heavy but always functional big cat lacks the final bite.
