The market for potent four-crank anchors seems to have been growing steadily in recent years. The shifting giant Sram has also recognised this and is launching its most affordable Guide model to date for the 2018 season, which has just begun.
In terms of construction, the Guide T is similar to its more expensive sister models. The brake lever is Matchmaker-compatible and can be mounted on the right or left. According to Sram, the only thing that has been saved is the adjustment options.
The familiar S4 brake caliper with two different piston diameters is designed to be bled quickly and easily thanks to bleeding edge technology. Newly designed bleed openings are designed to prevent drips and prevent air from entering the system.
The so-called heat shield technology has also been adopted from the familiar Guide models. Here, stainless steel plates shield the brake calliper from the heat of the brake pads, keeping the brake fluid at a constant 20 °C. Sram wants to ensure consistently high braking performance. In this way, Sram wants to guarantee a permanently high braking performance.
The new Sram Guide T will be available from January.
