A child's first attempts on a bike can be very exciting. Woom knows this too. A children's book is designed to ease the worries of future pedal riders.

The first bike calls for the first turns of the pedals. The anticipation of the offspring is often accompanied by fear. Children's bike manufacturers know this too Woom. That's why the children's cycling experts from Austria have decided to include a children's book in their repertoire to encourage courage and ambition for the first attempts at cycling. Together with the insecure Oskar and his courageous sister, all budding pedalling knights can prepare for their challenge. The short story is about the insecure Oskar, who is afraid of the first few metres on his new bike. His tough sister eases his worries. Together they take on the challenge. In the end, Oskar becomes a proud pedal knight.

The loving illustrations were created by the Japanese studio Takeuma. The drawings were primarily intended to be recognisable as local. The slim book is also published in English by Woom USA. The children's book was produced with certified environmental seals at the Gugler print shop.

Farewell to stereotypes

The book author and editor of BIORAMA magazine, Thomas Weber, explained that the main aim of this story was to break down the usual role clichés. This begins with the insecure Oskar and his courageous sister and extends to modern family constellations. That suits Woom.
