BMC redefines the e-road bike: the Teammachine 01 AMP combines the agile handling of the SLR platform with the invisible power of the TQ-HPR40 drive. Weighing just 9.4 kilograms, the Swiss company is setting an exclamation mark in the e-road bike segment.
With the presentation of the new Teammachine 01 AMP it is clear that BMC had set itself ambitious goals. The Swiss engineers from Grenchen have set themselves the task of creating nothing less than the "best e-road bike in the world". The aim was to transfer the pro-team-proven riding characteristics of the Teammachine SLR - lightness, stiffness and aerodynamics - into the era of e-mobility without sacrificing the purist core of a real racing bike.
The result is a machine that provides the rider with "160 per cent of their own power". But it's not about raw thrust, it's about a subtle, natural amplification of your own instincts. Anyone who mounts this bike should feel like a legend, climb like a machine and move like a pro.
With the Teammachine 01 AMP, BMC is setting an exclamation mark in the e-racer segment. By consistently combining high-end carbon construction with the quietest drive system on the market, BMC has created an E-road bike that makes no compromises. It preserves the soul of classic road cycling and enriches it with a new dimension.
Weight was a central dogma in the development of the Teammachine 01 AMP. The BMC engineers knew that more support makes little sense if it comes at the price of massive additional weight. An e-bike that is too heavy would cancel out the advantage of the motor on the mountain due to the increased energy expenditure.
To solve this dilemma, the proven 01 Premium Carbon technology was used. The result is impressive: the frame weighs just 795 grams in size 54, while the fork weighs 363 grams. In the top "ONE" configuration, the entire bike weighs just 9.4 kilograms. This puts BMC in an area where hardly any other competitor is playing and sets a new benchmark for the entire segment.
It is no coincidence that the Teammachine 01 AMP looks almost indistinguishable from its non-motorised counterpart. Using state-of-the-art finite element analysis (FEA), the tube profiles and carbon layup were refined in countless iterations. The Impec Lab team used this knowledge to adopt the specific shapes of the Teammachine SLR while taking into account the space required for the drive system.
One technical highlight is the integration of the drive unit: the motor is not simply screwed into the frame, but is "strapped on" using an innovative hinge system. This design is intended to optimally distribute the clamping forces across the frame and ensure that the stiffness values reach exactly the level of the World Tour-proven Teammachine SLR 01.
For a passionate road cyclist, feedback from the road is the most important currency. Every watt, whether from the legs or the motor, must be converted into propulsion without loss. Meticulous attention to detail in the design of the bottom bracket and rear triangle structure means that the Teammachine 01 AMP guarantees explosive acceleration and precise handling.
As soon as you exceed the assistance limit of 25 km/h, the bike reveals its true character: thanks to the almost friction-free TQ drive, the Swiss say that the e-bike rides like a classic carbon racing bike. There is no noticeable resistance to slow the rider down, which makes all the difference, especially on flat terrain or on fast group rides.
The aesthetics of the Teammachine 01 AMP follow the principle of total integration. The ICS Carbon Evo cockpit conceals all cables and ensures a clean front end. The TQ-HPR40 motor and the 290 Wh battery are so skilfully positioned in the down tube that you hardly notice them. Even the AeroCore bottle cages have been specially designed around the battery to minimise drag while ensuring compatibility with the range extender.
A motor is only as good as the software that controls it. BMC has refined the firmware of the TQ system to its own specifications in order to guarantee a power delivery that feels completely natural. Three specific riding modes were developed in intensive series of tests:
Despite the slim silhouette, the system offers enough capacity for epic days in the saddle. According to the manufacturer, the internal 290 Wh battery enables a rider weighing 80 kg to cover up to 130 kilometres and 2,000 metres in altitude in Eco mode. If that's not enough, you can use the optional range extender (+160 Wh), which is designed to increase the total range to up to 200 kilometres and a whopping 3,100 metres in altitude. This puts an end to the fear of an "empty tank" on the last pass of the day.
During the development of the Teammachine 01 AMP, special attention was also paid to the development of the control centre: cockpit and display. A high-resolution OLED colour display in the top tube provides all relevant information in any lighting conditions. Thanks to Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, the bike can be easily paired with bike computers or smartphones.
The centralised energy management is practical: the TQ system not only powers the motor, but also the fully integrated 20-lumen rear light and the Shimano Di2 shifting group. This means that only one battery needs to be charged. In addition, the motor support on the top models can be conveniently controlled via the thumb buttons on the Shimano shift levers.
Despite all the racing DNA, comfort has not been neglected. The Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) aims to provide vibration damping through targeted compliance of the frame. The frame also offers space for tyres with a real measured width of up to 34 mm. This significantly increases control and grip on rough tarmac or on fast descents. The geometry is based on the Pro Race geometry of the SLR, but offers 20 mm more stack height to enable a semi-sporty position without excessive use of spacers.

The Swiss are launching three model versions of the new Teammachine 01 AMP on the market. In terms of price, the tableau starts with the Three for 7,999 euros. For the Two, you have to dig deep into your pockets at 9,499. The One serves the high-end segment with an impressive 13,499 euros.
Trimmed for maximum lightness and performance. The AMP One clearly breaks the 10 kg mark.
The golden mean: high-quality features, but slightly heavier than the top model.
New technology, but the heaviest and cheapest model in the range due to the choice of components.
