With the Garmin eTrex Touch, the sport type can be selected with a swipe gesture in the start menu. All important settings are then customised. Switching between touring bike, mountain bike, hiking or geocaching is quickly done. The customisation options within the profiles are almost limitless.
The map view, data fields in the trip computer and applications in the menu allow personalised settings down to the smallest detail.
A simple bike mount and a routable map based on OSM for the whole of Europe allow you to get started straight away. Plus the option of a full selection of Garmin maps.
The eTrex Touch is pleasantly compact and lightweight. The display is sufficiently large and bright and the touchscreen is highly responsive, as you would expect from a smartphone.
It is powered by two standard rechargeable batteries, making it easy to replace if necessary.
Tip: If you can do without the barometric altimeter and additional fitness sensors, the cheaper Touch 25 is the best choice.
