Bosch has a new display in its range for sporty riders from model year 2019. The Kiox on-board computer is compact, has a colour display and comes with its own handlebar control instrument. The device provides information on speed, power, cadence, battery charge level and can be connected to a heart rate monitor. A display light automatically adjusts to the ambient brightness and the colour display should be easy to read even in direct sunlight. Updates can be downloaded to the computer via Bluetooth.
Anyone who has ever been stranded on a long tour with an empty battery will know the problem: the intended destination is a long way off. A power socket at the guesthouse and the standard charger in your rucksack can help you get over the worst of the frustration, but it can be hours before you have enough energy in your battery again. With the Bosch Fast Charger, you can now significantly reduce the waiting time. The new fast charger pumps the battery full much faster than the standard charger with 6 amps of charging power. It only takes 1.2 hours instead of 2 hours to charge a 500 Wh battery halfway. The battery is fully charged after 3 hours, whereas the standard charger takes 4.5 hours. The Fast Charger is compatible with all Bosch battery variants, around 20 per cent heavier and slightly larger than the standard charger. It will be available from specialist retailers from autumn 2018.
